Weather permitting, the Town of Benson Board of Commissioners will hold an emergency meeting on February 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM to discuss a complaint received by the North Carolina State Auditor by way of the Hotline.

Beginning Tuesday March 01, 2016 the City of Dunn will be temporarily change the current disinfection process of the potable water from the use of Chloramines to Free Chlorine. The City of Dunn will resume the Chloramination process on Friday April 1, 2016.

Commercial Breaking, Entering and Larceny 02/04/2016:
A Press Release with information about a Commercial Breaking, Entering and Larceny under investigation by the Benson Police Department is attached. Suspect photos taken from the surveillance system are included with the Press Release, and anyone with information about either of these incidents is encouraged to contact Detective William Brown at 919-894-2091, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Elections update (01/26/2016):
If you are a registered voter
and reside within the Town of Benson, you should have received a letter from the
Johnston County Board of Elections notifying you of changes to Benson voting
districts as well as new voter registration cards. Most voters will not have any
changes to their voting district, but some voters were moved to a new district.
This was done to align the County voting rolls with the latest election map
provided by the Town of Benson and confirmed by an audit at the County level.
Registered voters that are in District 2 will vote in a new election for a
representative to the Town Board of Commissioners on March 15, 2016. Please click here for a copy of the letter.

Events and Holidays
Friday, March 25, 2016: Town Hall and the Parks and Recreation Department will be closed to observe Good Friday. Offices will re-open for regular business on Monday, March 28, 2016.

Conference Center, Classroom, & W.J. Barefoot Auditorium Rentals
A renovated conference center, classroom, and kitchen are located on the bottom floor at the back of Town Hall. These spaces are available for your next conference, workshop, training class, corporate retreat, birthday party, or baby shower.
The W.J. Barefoot Auditorium is located on the second floor of Town Hall. This space is avaiable for your next show, pageant, concert, or event.
