Available Rentals

BPRD has some great opportunities for the public to rent their facilities. These include the Benson Singing Grove and Benson Civic Center. These facilities are great places to have banquets, birthday parties, dancing/singing events, meetings, picnics, receptions, reunions and much more. They can be reserved/rented depending on availability on a first come, first served basis. To reserve a facility BPRD must receive a refundable cash deposit and rental fee along with a completed contract. See rental opportunities and their contracts below for more details.

Mitchell Nance Athletic Complex/Picnic Shelter

The Nance Athletic Complex, located on E. Hill Street, is primarily used for youth athletics. Fields that are located here are all lighted and include 2 soccer fields and 1 softball field. Available during athletic events are restroom facilities and a concession stand. A playground for children ages 2-12 is available and a picnic shelter with picnic tables and grills. A rental fee of $10.00 for residents and $15.00 for non-residents plus a $25.00 cash deposit is required to reserve the picnic shelter and bathrooms. Download the Form here.

Municipal Park

Municipal Park is located beside the Benson Civic Center at 1204 N. Johnston Street and offers a variety of facilities. These facilities include 1 youth baseball field, 1 youth/adult softball field, 1 batting cage, 3 bullpens, 1 sand volleyball court, 8 sets of horseshoe pits, 2 tennis courts and 4 shuffleboard courts. Available during athletic events are restroom facilities and a concession stand. There is also a 900sq.ft. picnic shelter with 2 grills(capacity for 32-40 people) that can be reserved. The rental fee is $10.00 for residents and $15.00 for non-residents with a cash deposit of $25.00 required. Next to the picnic shelter is a large playground for children ages 2-12. Benson Singing Grove Building & Stage

The Benson Singing Grove is located in downtown Benson on 2 acres parallel to Main Street. Located inside the park is a 600sq.ft. multi-purpose room with a 720sq.ft. stage attached, which can be rented. There are two dressing rooms and restroom facilities near the stage area. There is also a 1500sq.ft. picnic shelter with the capacity for 80-100 people with two grills, which can also be rented. Next to the picnic shelter is a playground for children ages 2-12.

The grove building is located in downtown Benson on about 1.5 acres parallel to Main St. The stage is 720sq.ft. with a 600sq.ft. multi-purpose room attached. There are two (2) dressing rooms and restrooms less than 200 ft. from the stage area. There is a $25.00 cash deposit required to reserve this facility and a rental fee. Picnic Shelter

The picnic shelter is about 1500sq.ft. and will hold 80-100 people with large restrooms within 300 ft. Next to the shelter there is a large playground and 2 grills. Great place for a family or group picnic! There is a rental fee of $10.00 for residents and $15.00 for non-residents and a $25.00 cash deposit required to reserve this facility. Benson Civic Center

The Benson Civic Center is located at 1204 N. Johnston Street and houses the offices of the Benson Parks & Recreation Department and the Benson Senior Center. The Parks & Recreation Department has rooms available for rentals within the Civic Center. The Multi-purpose Room is about 3000sq.ft. of open space with the capacity for 125 people. Multi-Purpose Room

The multi-purpose room is about 3000sq.ft. of open space with the capacity for 125 people. There are restroom facilities available and tables and chairs available for the renter’s use. There is a $100.00 cash deposit required to reserve this facility and a rental fee. The rental fee for the first three (3) hours is $90.00 for town residents and $140.00 for non-residents. Each additional hour after the first three (3) hours is $25.00 for town residents and $40.00 for non-residents.

Meeting Rooms

We have two meeting rooms to choose from, one with about 960sq.ft. of open space and one with about 200sq.ft. of open space. There are restrooms available and tables and chairs available for the renter’s use. There is a $100.00 cash deposit required to reserve one (1) of these rooms and a rental fee. The rental fee for the first three (3) hours is $60.00 for town residents and $90.00 for non-residents. Each additional hour after the first three (3) hours is $15.00 for town residents and $25.00 for non-residents.

Picnic Shelter

The picnic shelter is 900sq.ft. and will hold 32-40 people. Also, next to the shelter there is a large playground and 2 grills. A great place for a family or group picnic! There is a rental fee of $10.00 for residents and $15.00 for non-residents and a $25.00 cash deposit required to reserve this facility.

Note: All facilities must be reserved one (1) week in advance with the exception of the Multi-Purpose & Meeting Rooms, which must be reserved two (2) weeks in advance. A “resident” is one who resides within the corporate limits of the Town of Benson or any person who pays property taxes to the Town of Benson. Download the Shelters and Grove Form here.
