Education

Benson is justifiably proud of its schools, which are part of the Johnston County Public School System and are recognized for their outstanding teachers and strong curricula. SAT scores surpass the North Carolina average, and the schools score well in state and national assessments.

Benson is served by Johnston Community College, part of the acclaimed North Carolina Community College System, and is within a short drive of four major, internationally recognized universities: North Carolina State University, UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University plus Meredith College, Peace College, Shaw University, Campbell University, St. Augustines and NC Central University.
