Message from the Chief

Thanks for taking the time to visit the Benson Police Department webpage.

What is BPD?  We are a team of 18 full-time and 5 part-time officers, who are committed to keeping you and our town safe.  We operate 24/7, 365, so we always have staff on duty to meet your needs.

What does BPD do?  In addition to our normal law enforcement duties, we believe in service to the community.  Be it unlocking a car door, helping find lost pets, hosting community meetings, or even providing an avenue so our youth can play sports in the summers, we want to help in any way we can.

As Chief, one of my priorities is to have our officers visible and engaged with the public we serve.  So you’ll see them visiting our businesses, in our neighborhoods talking to residents, and in our schools keeping the students and staff safe.  We take pride in the services we provide, and we are constantly seeking out new ways to make a positive impact in our town.

I encourage you to contact us if there’s a need not being met, or if you have a question or a comment.  By working together, we can continue to enhance the quality of life for everyone who lives in or visits the Town of Benson.
